gtk theme engine

Hi

I have been compiling the release candidates from source according to 
the directions but for some reason xfce-gtk-engine is not installing 
correctly.I just started the list and saw a few posts about this 
subject.Does anyone have any specific instructions to get themes 
working?

I too only have "default" in user interface settings.I have all the 
window manager themes though.There is no entry in the settings manager 
to change themes.

Other than that I like this project.I just feel like I am missing out on 
some features.I have searched for clues but havnt got the right ones 
yet.
