Autohide quit working

All of a sudden, for no reason that I know, the autohide function on my
XFce panel quit working.  The panel won't, under most circumstances,
appear when I move the cursor down to the bottom.

I AM able to get it to pop up every now and then when I energetically
move the cursor all the way down and more or less randomly click
it--sometimes the panel pops up in that case.

Any ideas on how to fix this?  I'm using Libranet 2.8.
