Icons in Alt-Tab

additional to this, I would appriciate to see the list of active programs in
the alt-tab pop-up, as in kde or windows.
For example: if three windows are open, alt-tab shows all three icons (or
names) and the one with the alt-tab focus highlighted. Does shift-alt-tab
work by the way? (cannot test here). If you have loads of apps open, this is
useful (or the Gimp, anyone?)

I think the window outline is really nice as an additional hint, but
like I mentioned below, since I have most of my windows maximized, I
can't really use it (all outlines are the same size).

Furthermore, I realized that when I'm working, I'm application-oriented.
I do not remember where in the screen my windows are but I do remember
what app I'm working with because the app remains constant throughout
the task, unlike window placement.

When I have to depend on window placement for task switching, any
alteration would slow me down (since all window outlines look pretty
much the same).

Regards,
Ariel
