Well, I see, but imagine you have a directory with a lot of files,
and you don't need their details etc. I'd like to see them as a
multi-column list with small-size icons (fitted in single window).

psc> the method is to open another instance of Xffm using the handy button:
psc> you can then copy/paste/etc between them; you can have  > 2  instances;
psc> the new one will open at the dir you have selected in the existing one.
