unable to print file

I looked in /var/log/cups/error_log and I see this entry for the times
that I used xfprint4. 

print_job: resource name '/printers/lpr' no good! or
print_job: resource name '/printers//usr/local/bin' no good!


lpr printing does work in evolution and gedit and from the xterm. Is
there a possible defect in the xfce software that causes it to append
the "/printers/" to the lpr command?
