	Ah, ok.  One way around this that some people have used (including
myself) is to use the kstart utility from KDE.  An example is how I
start some xterms on desk two - 

# Start 4 sterms on desktop 2
kstart --window xterm --desktop 2 xterm -fn 7x14 -ls -rv -vb
kstart --window xterm --desktop 2 xterm -fn 7x14 -ls -rv -vb
kstart --window xterm --desktop 2 xterm -fn 7x14 -ls -rv -vb
kstart --window xterm --desktop 2 xterm -fn 7x14 -ls -rv -vb
