Um ... I was kinda hoping that somebody would point out that you can
configure kdm to autologin using it's pretty GUI setup tool.

I'm sure you know your requirements best, but FWIW I cant think of a
single situation other than a kiosk where you'd want to use autologin.

I've had more problems from nosy, clueless users than I've ever had from
malevolent crackers.
