yessssssssssssssssssssssssss that was the solution
for my problem.... thanks thanks thanks... I've spent
more than 10-12 hours ( didn't I say that I am stubborn ?)
to no avail and then... a magic word appeared in the air ... "showexec"
ooops in the e-mail box

Summary:
I can use the original script, provided by RedGat 8.0, called "oowriter"
and the magic line in "fstab" is as follows:

/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows98 auto users,showexec,umask=000 0 0

T H A N K S !!!!!

Igor
P.S.: case closed thanks to all you great guys !!!
Linux rocks !!

I do not get viruses because I do not use MS software. If you use Outlook
or Outlook Express then please do not put my email address in your
address-book so that WHEN you get a virus it won't use my address in the
"From:" field. Thanks :)
