This is a Good Thing. Once I activated the ctrl-Fn keys I remembered why I
got rid of them years ago: they override application-specific use. So, I go
to search in WordPerfect (ctrl-f8) and I'm now in a different desktop.
Using the alt keys removes this conflict.
