With regard to gdkpixmap creation causing trouble on some Xserver
configurations, a new command line option has been added to the CVS for
the upcoming 3.8.18 release. This allows xftree in different modes by
using the command line argument -p n. Doing a xftree -h will display the
following help:

xftree -p (0|1|2|3) sets the icon level
0 = no icons at all
1 = basic icon set, no scaling done
2 = extended icon set, no scaling done
3 = extended icon set with scaling to font size

The "no icons" option is pretty cool because you can xftree look real
clean and make it use a minimum of Xserver resources (for video cards <=
1MB).
