Hi,
Something else to take into account is that the very small Xubuntu dev team
(which does not include Canonical) focuses on the coming release. Updates to
the previous release only come from Ubuntu, but there actually isn't time to
keep packaging updates for more than one (i.e. the coming) release. (Though
I think that if somebody else is willing to package 4.6.2, it might very
well be possible to get those into the repositories, after reviewing.)
Best,
