Maybe include both forms?

  # for 1 (one) file
  msgid ""
  "Are you sure that you want to permanently\n"
  "delete the selected file?"

  # for more than one file
  msgid ""
  "Are you sure that you want to permanently\n"
  "delete the %u selected file?"
  msgid_plural ""
  "Are you sure that you want to permanently\n"
  "delete the %u selected files?"

We need it for proper Russian translation. And I think it also makes
sense for Polish and other languages with complex plurals.
