[Xfce-i18n] Encoding issue with 4.3.99.1

Hi,

I've just built XFCE-4.4rc1 (from source) on Slackware 11.0. I'm using the
LANG=fr_FR at euro environment locale system-wide.

Here's what I get on my desktop:

Obviously, xfdesktop expects utf-8... so how can I make things display correctly
on the desktop?
