Sorry, I should have specified.  All my script does is:
msgfmt --use-fuzzy --statistics -o $lang.gmo $lang.po
If it prints out the usual "X translated, Y untranslated, Z fuzzy"
message (or whatever it is), we get nice statistics.  Anything else and
it gets listed as a parse error.  I haven't checked it, but printing out
warnings should be ok, as long as the statistics message is in there
somewhere.

At some point I may modify my script to handle errors better by parsing
the line number from the error and trying to remove obsolete
translations if they're there, but that's something for another day.
