Jens,
AKAIK I already replied that. Xfce uses gdk-pixbuf but is not built
specifically for gdk-pixbuf, and it can run with Imlib or even just
libXpm.
Thus it doesn't take advantage of PNG alpha channel available in
gdk-pixbuf.
