As discussed, I pushed the latest patch, to have the fix in this release.

Works nice thunar-internally. Though right click DnD "thunar --> xfdesktop" or
e.g. "thunar --> Nautilus" does not work yet (did work with thunar 1.6.x)  So I
will keep the bug open.
