Ah, thanks for the hint, now I got it !
Think thunar_job_ask_skip is the only dialog which adds
THUNAR_JOB_RESPONSE_RETRY ... so it seems to be in use.

If you think it is ready, I would push your patch to master and the 4.14
branch.  To me it looks good now !
