Hi!

Maybe you can help to clearify:
- There are only folders inside comics ? Or as well pictures / pdfs / videos ?

2546 comics (cbr + cbz + pdf) + 545 folders

- They are located on a ftp mount, not locally ?

Locally. Mechanic hardrive.

- What type causes the most lag for you ? Does the type matter ?

Yes. Browsing the folders is more fluid than browsing files.

- Is the bug gone if you select to show thumbnails for local files only ?

Thunar configures for thumbnails only for local files.

- Is the bug gone if you select to show no thumbnails ?

Nope. It spend almost the same time. 
Once the folder content is loaded, browsing files is faster.

- Can you reproduce the bug with nautilus ?

I don't have nautilus installed, but I've testing with CAJA, SPACEFM and
PCMANFM and Caja and PCManfm are more or less as faster than Thunar. But
SpaceFM was like a lightning, it load all the folder content instantly.
