Finally I was able to reproduce with 1.6.11, but only twice after about 20
tries each and then no more after countless attempts.
It hangs for ~2 seconds and it's really hard for me to find a pattern. It
really looks like a heisenbug :/

My specs:
- Thunar 1.6.11 running from terminal
- My monitor is 1920x1080
- Thunar was maximized during my trials
- Detailed list view
- Using only mouse, not keyboard shortcuts
- Ran the attached script on ~/Download (which was empty)

No luck reproducing with Thunar 1.7.2.
