Problem exists still in Version

Version of thunar: 1.6.11
Configuration: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS - x64 - Intel Core I7

for reproducing it, you need a monitor with at least 1920x1080,

you scroll the folder, wich you will enter to the top (at position line 3)
you enter this folder, which has more files than screen can keep (scrolling
necessary)
you scroll a little bit up and down
you leave this folder with up-arrow.

it is not every time here, but i had the second newly installed system where
the error occured.
one sees, that this occurs in the refresh phase of the scroller. sometimes
screen refresh seems to occure before file list is newly recreated.
