I'm not sure how this is an Xfce-specific problem, as Xfce doesn't determine the
file selector that is used in applications.
At any rate, in the "new" gtk file chooser, right click in the file list box for
a "Show hidden files and folders" option. I believe this requires gtk 2.4 or
higher. Or you can hit '/' or ctrl+L and type the path manually.
For the "old" file chooser, you can use tab-completion in the entry box.
Regardless, not our issue.
