Sorry, got a little overly-exited there.
Let's consider what (from what I gather) are the four most used
file-managers. Konqueror: would you like a fast-food restaurant with
that? Nautilus: not consistent and bloated for what anybody actually
cares to do with it. Both navigational and spacial dominate your
desktop with too much surface area. Xffm: I find myself thinking about
xffm instead of my files. It's very busy. Rox: Simple, gets the job
done, quirky beyond explanation (delete doesn't delete? ctrl+x deletes
and doesn't cut ? er, nooo!), and fully featured in all the ways I never
cared about.
When everybody is doing things *wrong* and someone does them *right*,
it's easy to get a LITTLE worked up ;).
Side note: with the whole drop-down pathbar, what about a history of
pathbars? That way you can navigate wherever you want and quickly get
back to where you were. That would also mean only one more arrow. Of
course, you would definately want to limit them to five pathbars at the
very most.
