[Thunar-dev] Desktop Refresh

Hello everybody,

new to the list and to Thunar, I ran into one problem/question:
When I drag a file to the dektop or delete a file on the desktop, it
will stay there until the the next login/reboot. But when I create a
new folder via the context menu, it is shown immediately. (This is in
Xubuntu 6.10, don't know which version of XFCE/Thunar it comes with.)

Is this a known bug, or even considered a non-issue? I couldn't find
it mentioned on the list (at least over the last 4 months). Or does
anyone know a workaround/setting to make it refresh earlier/regularly
(like every 5 or 10 seconds)?

Not being a developer, I'm not quite sure this is caused by Thunar
(might be another component of XFCE).

This feature is extremely important to me, as I'm about to give away a
machine (or two) with Xubuntu which otherwise is a good fit for those
old machines, but will not be accepted with weird behaviour like that.
