I can't get the patch to load, but yeah, the vpane sucks

If we really wanted to unify the two we could do an Outlook type UI -
I think Evolution does it to. Lemme rummage for  a screenshot.

Here ya go. It's a clickable screenshot. On the left you see the
individual shortcut buttons. Try clicking on "My Shortcuts"

I think this is the only reasonable way to unify the two, it they
really need unifying, which I am not convinced they do.
