The reason for the tabs was botsie's request for a one-click solution. 
If it doesn't need to be a one-click solution, I'd prefer the Nautilus 
way of having a `button-menu' instead of notebook tabs over the View 
menu solution, because I think that way its more obvious that the 
sidebar can display different things. Of course, we could do the View 
menu solution in addition.
