[Thunar-dev] Newbie question

Sorry if it sounds stupid.... But I get macro erros even when trying to 
install xfce-dev-tools... 

After running autogen.sh from xfce4-dev-tools I get this output:

AC_PACKAGE_TARNAME
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.

What am I doing wrong?
