Disagree.  The most common case for use of the button bar is to navigate
up in the hierarchy, either because you realise you went to far, or you
want to check something higher up, and then come back to where you were
last.  GtkFileChooser does this well.

Finding $CWD is trivial: it's the button that's pressed in.  As I said,
that's pretty damned obvious to me, thought it's theme-dependent.
