I think that the xfkc package needs to be updated after the latest
changes in libxklavier12 (3.5-2 in Debian), which now returns all
strings in UTF-8 (it previously used the user's locale).

This package is using xci_desc_to_utf8() taken from
gnome-control-center. This function should be modified to avoid
converting to UTF-8 again.

gnome-control-center has already been fixed in Debian (1:2.22.2.1-2).
