One could imagine some kind of "type" grouping. When someone sorts by
type, group files by types and display different colums for differents
types. I'm not good at mockups so I wont try, but I guess you'll see
what I say.

That said, I really dont know how hard it is to code, and I'm not sure
who could be interested :)
