It is exactly this date I am always looking at when I have to note down
the year, month and day without having to convert the name of the month
to a number[0].  Perhaps add a tooltip with that information on the
panel plugin widget, and click to see the little calendar.

Myeah, I think they are part of a calendar and that it should just
remain as simple as it is by default.  Options are always welcome.
