mousepad lost menu

Some update from git.xfce.org#master in the past days caused mousepad to not show the menubar anymore. I'm sure I used this in the past days, just to easily navigate to the recently opened files. I can use ctrl+o to navigate to the desired file. mousepad.git itself was not updated since 20190618T003216.d24c66f, so it must be some other component.

Any idea what may be the cause?
