Currently no one is working on xfmpc AFAIK and I was the one that wrote
that patch out of curiosity.
So yes, it is free to pick, with that patch applied xfmpc is fully
functional, there are just a few UI adjustments left to be done (buttons
size and the progress bar too thin) and of course handle as many
deprecations as possible.
It would be awesome if you could continue where I stopped, if you need
any help feel free to get in touch (e-mail or at #xfce-dev).
