Foreground text color when panel is black

Hello all,

I don't know if it can be considered as a bug or not.

I changed my panel background color to be black because I like it that way,
but doing so the text of some applets is darkgrey on black.. almost 
unreadable.

For now I patched and recompiled the datetime plugin with some 
gtk_widget_modify_fg functions, to set white color on the text.

Is there a way in gtk to change the default foreground color of the 
whole panel ?
