Thanks for this patch : I just submitted a xfce4-terminal-patched package
including it,
for Archlinux users eager to test the new URL matching.
It is available on AUR:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xfce4-terminal-patched/
By the way, the macro USERCHARS is defined two times in terminal-widget.c
after applying this patch:
The first definition should probably be removed, since it causes GCC
warnings.
I used the original patch to keep this package as vanilla as possible,
but it will be updated if the patch is modified.
