There are tips on the mail archive(mail.xfce.org/pipermail/xfce4-dev) but I
can't find them...
In a nutshell, if you really wish(and have time to) contribute, start on
small things like fixing bugs(specially those ones that annoy you).
Browse the bugzilla.xfce.org, pick one or two to work on, submit the patch
and poke the bug assignee.
