Ouch, I just found the roadmap. I didn't realize the feature freeze is 
so near. Not a chance for me to make a substantial contribution before 
the deadline, especially that I'm somewhat busy next week.

Having the container plugin would be neat but I agree with you that it 
is not addressing the whole issue. How about focusing on adding some 
plumbing to the framework (even if it ends up not being used in 4.10 or 
not exposed in the GUI(?)) so that later we can just fix *all* the 
plugins later?
