I'm happy with either workflow. IN_PROGRESS is nice to let people know
you're working on a fix and NEEDINFO is also a good idea to announce
that you cannot start working on a fix yet because you're lacking
information.

What is VERIFIED good for though? (This is a slightly off-topic
question as VERIFIED is part of both workflows anyway.)

As long as it's still possible to choose reasons why a bug was resolved
(like INVALID and WONTFIX) I'm happy.
