Once you depend on 4.8, you should also take a look at the
XfcePanelImage widget, it can be really helpful for a number of plugin
(before I forget to tell you once you start to port plugin ;-).

Note that you cannot use 4ui and gui4 at the same time; the
xfce-titled-dialog widget has been copied over and so has xfce-header
(although not pubic api anymore).
