I have a problem with the new version. In Fedora we use --no-add-needed
for the linker, the reasons are outlined in
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/UnderstandingDSOLinkChange

Trying to compile ristretto 0.0.91 fails with:

> /usr/bin/ld: ristretto-xfce_wallpaper_manager.o: undefined reference to symbol 'XInternAtom'
> /usr/bin/ld: note: 'XInternAtom' is defined in DSO /usr/lib64/libX11.so.6 so try adding it to the linker command line
> /usr/lib64/libX11.so.6: could not read symbols: Invalid operation
> collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
> make[3]: *** [ristretto] Error 1

I had the same problem already with 0.22, adding -X11 fixed it.
