Sorry to ask all these dum questions, but how do you normally handle 
development ? Do you have a stable and an development version in 
parallel, or do you make development directly on your workbench machine ?

Are there a recommended way to do this ? Not that I can't come up with 
one my self, but I like to benefit from what others are doing on this 
project, if possible.
