XFCE Desktop background cannot load Jpeg any longer

I had a similar problem caused by upgrading libjpeg to latest version 7.
Two solutions:
a. (quick and dirty)
ln -s /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.7 /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62
b. (the right one)
recompile every xfce (core or goodies) that had a dependency for
libjpeg.so.62
I never understood why thunar or ristretto (or whatever) have a
dependency to /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.7 or /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62 and not to
/usr/lib/libjpeg.so
