Thank you for proving my implicit point that only finicky, unusual 
people (who, unrelatedly, moreover can't follow directions) use short 
row widths when reading mail.

Actually, no, you didn't.  Well, you did, but your mail client helpfully 
set Format="flowed" in the content-type header, and my mail client 
noticed this and helpfully unwrapped your newlines to reduce my need to 
vertically scroll.  If only everything worked so well.

How does a smaller row width increase touch typing speed?  I don't see 
how the two are related.  Well, possibly that when the eye needs to move 
from right to left to start a new line, the distance is shorter.  But 
then that also means that you're starting new lines more often, which 
might end up being a wash.

Oh, and here's your complimentary over-the-internet face-stab.  Please 
look up the definition of 'rhetorical' at some point.
