Yeah, that's why I offered to do it myself ^_^.

It's not too different from the old way, tho, just moved -- set the 
default colors in xfce_backdrop_init() in src/xfce-backdrop.c (they're 
not being set now, so that needs to be added), and set the 
DEFAULT_BACKDROP #define in common/xfdesktop-common.h.  Seems simpler to 
do it that way than installing an xfconf xml file.
