Scrambled Terminal with Fedora 9

I had some problems with Terminal on qemu, kvm and virtualbox giving
me funky colours or making X crash.
They all disappeared after disabling Composite (which is enabled by
default in newer X) in xorg.conf:

Section "Extensions"
        Option "Composite" "disable"
