Xfce4-panel and laucher icons

I don't know if this is a bug/feature in xfce4-panel or a bug in my distro
(ArchLinux), but in xfce4-panel menu (the system one) the icons only get
found if they are in /usr/share/pixmaps, but not in
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/*/apps/ as most packages put then, so I end up with
some items without icons even tho the icon is there in
/usr/share/icons(...). Is there any config option to set the icons search
path?
