Tracker is not a python app. IIRC, pcmanfm copied the relevant parts
from thunar-vfs, but not sure. GTK+ itself uses xdgmime, but that's
rather slow and difficult to use (IMHO), and gives you only the mime
type, but finding the proper icon is still up to you. You could
optionally depend on thunar-vfs for this and fallback to xdgmime if
thunar-vfs is not found.
