You could give it it's own configure.in.in and Makefile.am and then
not add it to SUBDIRS in the main Makefile.am of xfce4-mixer, so you'd
then need to compile it separately... or disable compilation of it
unless you pass --enable-test_vc or whatever to the ./configure.
