Can Xfce depend on Gtk+ 2.10?

xfce4-places-plugin shows a Recent Documents submenu when GTK >= 2.10
is available. It's been optional for a while now, and it hasn't been a
maintenance headache at all - just a few extra preprocessor
directives.
