I was talking to the guy on #xfce when he was talking about it. I was
encouraging him to bet a backtrace from gdb, but he kept saying he got
"no stack". I wasn't totally confident in what he was doing but he was
pretty adamant that he couldn't get any more info and should just file a
bug. Seeing the error message it suggests

   You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error()
   function.

which I don't think he did, so maybe you could suggest that he does
this. 

Unfortuanately I only have one monitor, so I can't lend a hand I'm
afraid.
