xdm and xfce

Hi all,

i am having Yoper Core with XDM and X-Server.I installed Xfce4.2. I added
startxfce4 to X11's xinitrc. When i looged in thru XDM, i am getting Xfce4
desktop,but,

1) It takes a long time for getting inside
2) The cursor is still X type and whenever i place my cursor in panel, the
panel disappears and no click,menu,nothing is working ;(

any ideas how to configure Xfce with XDM ?, i have not seen any docs on this
